Our projects
We believe in innovative ideas to improve the incomes and well being of orphans and vulnerable children in our society.
Education
We believe that education should be accessible to anyone and that represents the key to personal development. Therefore, we are offering the children the opportunity to access education on a regular basis.
Our organization ensure schools supplies including school uniforms, shoes, and sports equipment to our children who attend nursery, primary and secondary public schools. Many school children miss breakfast and lunch, and may only eat once after school (dinner). No child can concentrate effectively when they always feel immense hunger.
Every child deserves an opportunity to receive a quality education and hope for a better future. We have taken on various projects such as classroom renovations, building new classrooms, providing school supplies, making sure each child has one meal at school, and creating extra-curricular activities for children as health outlets.
Health
Health services provided to our children is based on the concept of primary health care. This strategy strongly emphasizes preventive rather than curative care, because curative care places a much heavier burden on response resources.
-
Initial Health Assessment is to identify health needs and to establish responses, recommendations, and priorities,
-
Yearly health insurance,
-
First-aid-kits are available and,
-
Bi-monthly training on general hygiene (hand/body/teeth washing, sexual education).
Menstruation Hygiene
Many girls do not attend school because of the lack of sanitation at schools during menstruation or because they are responsible for providing for their families, even at a young age. In Tanzania, female hygiene has traditionally been a taboo subject, and most schools lack adequate facilities for young women. Without access to proper sanitary materials and fearing ridicule for bloodstains on their skirts, many girls miss school during menstruation.
Our organization provides menstrual health education and reusable sanitary napkins to school girls to keep them in school, We also teach women and girls to make reusable sanitary napkins but also teach women, girls and boys in nearby communities to reduce the stigma of menstruation by sharing information, products and related services.
